  Just imagine the hell we would have gone through, if we had landed at Launceston without checking. Go thrifty, that's the perfect way to treat your customers. After the vacation, I tried to contact them again to let them know of the issue again, and just got a cursory generic mail saying some upper level person will take care.

  Deliver all they promised, and upgraded the car. Quick and friendly service. Didn't try to push insurances or other add-on products.

  Repeated requests to the customer care did not help and I was vaguely told that this was a special rule in Tasmania. I further tried contacting them through their online feedback form on their website. I received no response. Every way contacting them hit a wall, and we finally had to cancel the booking.

  Fortunately for me, one day prior to my booking, just for confirmation I gave a call to Thrifty office in Launceston, where to my shock I was told that my Indian driving license would not be accepted. This despite the fact that it is in English and has my photo. The FAQ section on their website and the booking confirmation mail quite clearly specify these as the only requirements for hiring a car.

  We had a fantastic experience with Thrifty Launceston Airport!! Friendly customer service on pickup and drop off, they even upgraded our car and the call centre were very accommodating when i called them multiple times over cancelled and delayed flights and adjusted the price too! Plus our bond $ was back in our account within 24hrs!! Super imoressed, will use again
